The Colossus of Rhodes: A giant bronze 30-meter

This statue was Helios, the Greek god of the Sun. It was built by sculptor Chars of Lindos in 305 BC

Raised on a marble base, this bronze statue was nearly 32 meters. The god was holding a torch in one hand and rested on his spear on the other. It was destroyed after an earthquake in 225 BC Many assumptions were made about the building of this work, but all describe it as great technological prowess.
