CO2 emissions have declined in the United States

United States - The economic crisis and rising oil prices had a positive effect on global warming. Indeed, it is primarily through these two factors that CO2 emissions fell by 2.8% in 2008 in the United States.

As announced last Wednesday the U.S. government, the United States last year recorded the largest decrease in CO2 emissions since the reports are regularly published on global warming.

This decrease of 2.8% is explained by the surge in oil prices last summer and the economic crisis, whose effects were felt at the end of 2008. Two factors that have resulted in a reduction of energy consumption in the United States.

This report is timely because the Democrats are trying right now to pass legislation on clean energy to reduce 17% CO2 emissions by 2020
